Lota Coat Stand

Lota Coat Stand

DESIGNER  : Rebecca Ruben

Description

The Lota Coat Stand transforms a fading everyday object into a striking functional sculpture. Referencing the iconic Indian lota, the piece pays homage to a utilitarian form that is slowly disappearing from daily life. At its base is a hand-hammered lota, meticulously crafted by Thathera artisans using time-honored metalworking techniques. The knobs and top are made from reclaimed teak wood, sourced from demolished Pol houses in Gujarat.
